Morning Lovelies,
VT I think your idea of going away is great. Our best Christmases have been spent abroad. My favourite was Goa, where Xmas lasted 3 days. We were swimming in the sea on Xmas morning listening to the sound of carols drifting down from the church on the headland. None of the commercialism of Xmas here.
These days I try not to build up my hopes and expectations, so this year I was pleasantly surprised! Despite being really poorly! Shared the cooking of Xmas dinner between 3 families. Watched Santa going home (ISS),before dinner, and before pudding! The neighbours must have thought we were bonkers! Hope I behaved well, cold remedy and champagne could be a recipe for disaster.
Irritating phone call with Mother. Involved her saying she couldn't hear me for most of the call except for the bit where I asked her what she wanted to do when we go up today. (Mother and her weird behaviours are the main reasons why Xmases have gone wrong over the years, so we see her on Boxing Day to limit my disappointment). So, we will be driving 90 miles to go to Nandos and then sales shopping. (This is what we do every time we visit!). She can't walk very far, complains all the time, and everyone else leaves me with her, while they go off and look in interesting shops!
We have booked in to a hotel with a pool tonight, (Lastminute.com - same price as the Travelodge!), and will be visiting Cheshire Oaks tomorrow. This will be our reward.
Wishing everyone a Happy Boxing Day! HE x
I know I was lucky enough to have this last Christmas day with dad will here. I know many people who would like one last day with a loved one:A
I had no expectations as due to dad's recent prognosis we expected the day to be written off. To have him still with us lured me into a security.
I have never liked Christmas but must have done it right as my kids have great memories. I spent 2008-2011 home alone a loved it but things change when dgc come along.
I will be away next year (dad and I had said last year we would do this for 2014).
i will take my good memories with me.
Travelling alone is expensive but also very peaceful.
Hope you survived today and Cheshire Oaks sounds good.
I am missing the sales as unable to walk far until get achillies tendons mended so no nice splurge in shops. Only thing I wanted was orange coat from next which has already sold out online so not missing anything.
Dad was beyond exhausted today. I got a hug and a smile but he wasn't sure if I had been or not as doesn't wake up fully.

Well as much as I want to stay and play with the night shift this evening I'm going to have to love you and leave you.
Still in agony with my shoulders, not sure how I'm going to manage work tomorrow and with it being early start I best try and get some sleep now as come 3-4am I tend to wake with the pain
So on that cheery note :rotfl: I shall bid you all g'night. I would say behave but that would make my catch up tomorrow boringSo be yourselves
