VT I'm not half bad at finding people (being part of my job and all that) so I'll give it a go if you like? My last day on the job this week so I'm sure I can sneak in a search here and there for you. It's always strangely satisfying when you know you've tracked a person down :)

My favourite one recently was a dude who was ex-directory. I knew his name and that he had a boat and roughly the area he lived in. Tracked him down by discovering he is secretary of a local waterways association. His home phone, email, the lot were listed at the head of some minutes from a meeting they had earlier in the year. The jackpot! :rotfl:

He still didn't want to do the show but I was proud of myself for at least half a day for that one :o

    Evening all

Need some of the wonderful Elite Spirit and some help please.

Trying to track down a couple of dad's friends as we can't find his address book.
Never know someone here might know them.

First is Graham Greaves. Lived in Bedford and attended the Bedford Modern School leaving around 1950. He married Jean who worked at ARA at the time. They had 2 children Nicole and Andrew who would now be mid to late 40. I remember them living Buckinghamshire way in the late
    70. I know Dad gets cards ect and they were still in contact. Only other thing I know is Graham had a sister who stayed in Bedford.

The other friend is more of a wild card. Mick Gadsden. I think he also went to the modern school. He married and moved away to Hampton Court area and he worked for National Westminster Bank. He had on daughter who's name I do not remember.

Really hoping dad's address book turns up . I have searched fb but no joy.

If any of the Elite think they might know anything that might help please get in touch by PM. Dad had a birthday card from Graham and Jean but we can't reply.

Home again. Visited dad at tea time. He was asleep but when I gave him a kiss and told him I was going he gave me a lovely big smile. Word of the day is peaceful.

Thanks DM, just been trying my friend google. ;)

I don't even know if ancient ipod still works. Looks like there is a way but not sure I want to faff around with it today and DD2 has both her laptops with her, so not got spare one here to download it onto anyway. I know several Christmases in a row she had itunes cards for pressies so know a lot of it was bought stuff. But getting rid of ancient computer is on my list. Want it ready to dispose of today. :o

Would people do a reformat of hard drive before they dump old computer or is there a way of keeping "Windowx XP" on it just in case it is of use to someone? I am far too rusty on IT.

I would expect that providing your dd2 still knows the passwords for her old iTunes accounts the she can just put onto her latest device.
I have ds2 old I phone and need to remove his photos first. He had a cloud set up so sent them to him via that. He says he can't access it so will have to see if I can send to my phone for safe keeping as my Lappy could go at any moment.
    We
I do know that whatever you buy via iTunes sits in your iTunes account so if she can access that she will be fine. If dd2 has told you to dispose of pc then go ahead. Pas here go to the it corner in the ground. Don't trust anyone with any part of am old device. I know we need to recycle but until I have an idiots guide into the ground they go. Better than turning up god knows where and information being accessed.
