Havent been here in ages but often wonder how my elite friends and family are ........so many questions so little time!

Life seems to have beaten me over the summer and autumn but am hopeful for a change in 2015 and wishing the same for the Elite

I ignored mine last year but I think the rules have changed

They haven't. What has changed is the introduction of keeper liability on 1/10/12 and the eagerness of some companies in going to court. (mainly Parking Eye, CEL & VCS)

In the case of smart parking, ignoring would appear to work in most cases as they are not yet litigious. However, much will change once the Parking Eye v Beavis appeal is heard in February. If the motorist wins all is good but if Parrking Eye win these crooks will be like bees around the honey pot.

It is much better to win via appeal or via a popla appeal as you then do not have to wait until the "debt" is statute barred before it is essentially gone for good. A popla appeal based on genuine pre estimate of loss is usually good enough to win.

Where as Facebook local groups you get it picked up the same night / next day. You don't have to wrap it, stand in the que at the post office, then to be told it's not arrived or if it has it's been damaged.

Totally not worth my time and effort.

Nor my money... Especially if your selling something for a few quid which I would think is 50% of eBays business right... They are trying to turn to more of an Amazon platform though where retailers sell with them that in the longrun is what I think they want.

they have literally 1000's of transactions a day, so are making millions without actually doing much!

We ignored one last year until they got on our wick, we then said that we had only just received the post (van is registered to office address) and requested their popla number, we have heard nothing since and that was quite a few months ago.
