Would people do a reformat of hard drive before they dump old computer or is there a way of keeping "Windows XP" on it just in case it is of use to someone? I am far too rusty on IT.

If you are going to dump it, I would certainly reformat the hard drive at the very least; and if you are very security-conscious/paranoid or whatever, I'd remove the hard drive and dispose of it separately; and if you're ultra-security-conscious, drill a hole right through the hard drive as well.

You could still pass on the computer minus hard drive to someone, via freecycle or whatever, as 'for spares or repair'; I've done that with a couple of old PCs.

Apologies I've had a very very busy day

First thing we got the decorations out the attic, I then had to put them up so we could get empty boxes back in attic as Fourp is off to his Mums tomorrow :( & I can't get in the attic :o:o

Then had a offer of taking stuff to tip so emptied !!!! from gardens :T

Decorated gate, put lights up, make crackers with Lego mini figures as the gifts :)

Then exDH turned up with his son & we had to entertain with singalong Frozen :)

Then I hand delivered all the local Christmas cards :) bar 2

    Then I cooked tea

Bath run & I'm ready to soak :D

Just finished the latest Bridget Jones - Mad about the boy .... slow start & Mr Darcy is dead :(
    Okay ish

    Laters :)
