Answer is that t.com put them up to saying £3.24 in order to advertise an offer that is merely being extended (and that got through to msm and the APG), when they are still £1.62 throughout the day instore in T today and no online shoppers yesterday or today via t.com will be charged the £3.24 but instead the £1.62 that, allegedly, "starts" tomorrow. It seems to me (or maybe I am out by a day, for "yesterday" read 9 December, "today" read "yesterday" and "tomorrow" read "today").
