Sports direct query

Options
Can anyone advise please? I wish to buy goods online from Sports Direct, then collect them in store. It states in their website Ts & Cs that this is possible, yet when I go to the online checkout to pay, there is no "collect in store" option. I have emailed SD to query this, and they have replied stating that this service is currently unavailable, and that I will have to pay to have my goods delivered.:( Well seeing as I am driving past their store, I kind of object to paying a fiver when I want to pick the goods up. Are they breaching any kind of sales act by stating that they offer a collection service on their website, yet failing to fulfil this offer?

Thanks in advance

  • Not sure about any legal issues but their collect in store option has a charge as well. I looked at it last week and it was either 3.99 or 4.99 delivery was 4.99 so I went with that.

Where does it say in the terms and conditions? All I can see is this:
Goods being delivered to a UK address by us will be at your sole risk from the time of delivery to you. Goods being delivered to overseas customers by Etail or by collection at our premises will be at your risk when such goods are collected by Etail (or Etail’s agent for you) from our premises.

Which suggests collection is only for overseas customers using a collection agent.
  • It states delivery to a local store is possible here under the Help Section entitled "QUESTION - Can you deliver to my local store?"

I would post the link, but I am not allowed to :-(

The website doesn't say anything about making a charge for in store collection...they charge me to pick it up in store, really? The swines!

Ok, I'm on that page. It does clearly state there will be a charge
Your parcel will take 5-7 working days to be delivered to store for only £3.99
