2015 Bristol | Bath Wedding Reception Venue Help

Options
Hi Everyone :)

We've just got engaged and have started to look at venues for 2015 April to September.

We're having difficulty trying to find a suitable Bristol / Bath venue at a reasonable cost. Either everything is too expensive or our numbers wont fit.

We've got around 70 day guests and up to 90 extra for the evening. We've been recommended a Caterer but cannot find a room suitable.

The venues we've looked at are coming in around 6-7k as charge corkage and dont allow outside catering.

Does anyone have some help / advice?
Thank you,
Andy and Sara

I've not been there, but I know a friend of a friend is getting married there, and have heard it's at the cheaper end of venues. It's definitely more of a DIY type place though, not sure if that's the kind of wedding you want?

The main room holds 120 which is fine for your meal, then you've got another room for the evening for additional guests so you can separate the noisy ones and the quiet ones :)

P.S. I think to get below 6-7k in that area, you'll definitely have to go midweek.
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

It was by far the cheapest of the options we found but without seeming like you're going for a cheap option. It's around £6-7k but that includes catering, DJ & quite a few other bits too.

I'm not sure what the cost would be without catering but I imagine it must be cheaper than elsewhere.

Not sure of current prices, but it's a lovely setting. We had our reception there over 20 years ago.

I got married in 2003 at Bristol registry office and had my reception at Banwell Castle. We had a very tight budget. At the time they didn't really specialise in weddings as such so we just had to pay per head for a 3 course meal per guest in the resturant and we chose the food selections. It only cost £500 and we had around 30-40 guests.

Our photographer took lovely photo's around the grounds with peacocks and we stayed at the castle (bride & groom) 1 night B & B.

    Worth a look.

we've been looking & we have found La Grotta Italian restaurant, The rummer & San Carlo will all do reasonably priced receptions , as for the suggestion of Nailsea tithe barn (above) although it's old it looks like a modern community centre

Have you looked on a site called the wedding secret? It lists most Bristol / Bath venues and points out the more reasonable ones.

A friend got married at Wick Farm a year or so ago and I remember them saying it was quite reasonable.

Also, groupon sometimes do offers for No4 in Clifton, the whole package is £1500.

Hope you find somewhere nice :)
