Hello
Hope someone can answer this cheeky one please.
I've got to send a load of paperwork to NS&I with regard to my late Mum's savings. They enclosed a little pre paid envelope, the type that holds one letter, for me to use which would probably hold a quarter of the stuff they've asked for.
Is it OK to sellotape this little envelope to a large manila envelope or would the postage be underpaid?
Thanks in advance.

You'd be better off getting a definitive from the Royal Mail but my understanding of the prepaid system is that the envelopes are weighed and charged accordingly back to the account holders. As such, provided all markings are visible this should work. Stick a return address on it too just in case. Or indeed see how much it would cost to send anyway.0

Well I sellotaped the little envelope to the big envelope and went to the Post Office. I showed them the envelope and said I wanted to send it "Signed For", popped it on the scales, pushed it under the partition and asked if I had got to pay any extra postage. He said "No, the postage is paid for, just the signed for charge - £1.10".
The postage would have been £1.24.
At least the way I did it I wouldn't have ended up with a red face! And I haven't robbed anyone.
Thanks

The postage hasnt been paid(yet). It is charged at the delivering office to their licence.
So you can stick the letter to the other envelope and it will be charged to their account at the correct postage.0
