70's fancy dress party idea please!!!

Its my sister's 30th birthday in October. We have been invited to a fancy dress party - the theme being the 70's.
We are (as are most) on a tight budget - would love some ideas. There is myself, my husband and my 4 year old daughter (she will only be at the party for a hour or so but would love to get her involved).
Having a slight problem as I was born in the 1981!!
Would love to do something a little different. Help me!
