    Morning all,

It was so windy last night but doesn't seem too bad today. Still pretty cold though when I went out to clean up after the girls.

'Youngest' is going out for the day. He's going to see a man about a job. Not wishing to count his chickens yet, but he needs his tools which I am hoping will be a good sign.

Beef for tea tonight. Saying that, ive not had breakfast yet.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

  • Hello all,:santa2:

It doesn't seem as cold here this morning, yesterday I couldn't seem to get warm.

TRU, Oh that takes me back. I can still see our 2 girls in their Nativity singing Away in a Manger, thank you so much.

Popped into town this morning, needed to go to the Post Office and Boots. I also popped into Thorntons for bags of Alpinis and Diplomat chocolates for both daughters, and they didn't have any. I couldn't believe it so near to Christmas, and also a lady behind me wanted their plain toffee and they didn't have any of that either. Then the assistant tells me the chocolates I want are their best sellers, SO why don't you order more:eek:

We had a lovely carvery yesterday lunchtime courtesy of DD, and the restaurant looked really pretty with the decorations.

We are having a quiet afternoon now, and then tomorrow will be busy. I have friends coming for supper, so throw the Dyson round, make sure the bathroom is clean, it always is but like to make sure, pick up our prescriptions and then off to Costco to buy some bits for supper.

    Have a good day everyone

Hello everyone. I have been missing in action for a few days, had a nice time at the Christmas market on Sunday, and went to Leeds for a couple of days. Most of the present shopping done now, and most arrangements for 'who is where when' made! Phew! Need to have a good clean of the house and present wrapping this week and probably into next week too.

Been to the supermarket, used voucher and Nectar points so £34.50 off the total. Cold beef, jacket potatoes and salad for dinner and need to cook a sausage casserole for tomorrow.

    Afternoon all,
Sorry to hear about your burst BB.

We had a lovely morning watching DGD in her Nativity at pre school. They do it in the church so numbers weren't restricted. They did indeed sing Away in a manger :),and I confess to a tear in my eye as its her first one.She was an angel.Mary brought the house down when the narrator announced that the Baby had been born and she reached under her dress and produced a cushion :rotfl:Magical .There were refreshments afterwards and she was very excited to see us all -4 from each side of the family :D Such a shame though as her Mummy had the sickness bug and couldnt make it,:(she was crying this morning & telling her Mum to get lots of photos.

We ended up getting a chippy dinner after as it was so wet and windy,we needed warming up.DH and DS have gone to the house we're renovating to do a bit now,as theyd booked a day off work.I'm going to have a good tidy up now,DGS stayed last night and it always gets messy when he's here :D

Tomorrow I'm going to the market to get my turkey,my neighbor is giving me a lift so I'll treat her to a nice coffee, there's a lovely stall where you can sit down and they do all different ones.
I've got some lamb mince so I think I'll make some Scotch broth for tea, nice and warming :D

Take care everyone and keep warm x

    Afternoon All
We went to visit friends in Hull, and also bought a new TV & Soundbar from a shop we like there (ouch!) It was lovely to see them again.
Dentist went well this morning, didn't feel a thing. He has filled it with something to try to remove the disclouring, but we may be looking for a crown in the fullness of time. (double ouch!) Been told to avoid hard things, so not sure what to have for tea/dinner.
While having sunshine and scatterd showers here and quite windy, we seem to be getting off light by comparison to other places.
Hopefully tomorrow is a freeish day,so I will try to put the new mixer to use, not had time yet. Then will get up early on Friday and have a real mouch around town (weather permitting).
Managed to order a canvas picture of DS&DDIL on their wedding day with a 50% voucher found on here, it has arrived today, and looks good.
BB Sorry to hear of your leak.
Molly Sorry to hear your op cancellation. x
    RR Well done you.:T:T:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Camelot I would be getting onto the makers of your boiler if having problems when it is so new. They can send one of their specialist engineers out.
RR & Tru Away in a Manger, my favourite carol too, especially sung by young children, a perfect choir is not the thing for it. Reminds me of my Sunday School Teaching years.
Snoozer Don't work too hard! ;)

Have you seen it is a £15 off a £75 Spend Aldi voucher in the Mirror/Record tomorrow.

((hugs)), spoons, positive vibes all round. Take care everyone. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Afternoon all,

Hugs for those in need today. Hope everyone is well.

Been busy. Had good fun with the kids at school doing 'Forest School' this morning. It's a hard life building dens, drinking hot chocolate and eating marshmallows ;)

Been to Dobbies with the girls from work for out Christmas afternoon tea.

    Happy Wednesday :)
  • Good evening chums ,had a really nice afternoon at the U3A xmas party ,lots to eat and a singalong and quiz and raffle.Great fun had by all, and even came home with two packets of uneaten Mr Kipling mince pies as there were some left over and we didn't want to waste anything :)
Alladin Pantomime tomorrow night I shall be worn out before we get to Christmas all this gadding around :):):)
Bit nippy here in Kent but I don't think we'll get a frost tonight. Some parts are getting the worst of the weather ,I hope you all are wrapped up warm and safe
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx
  • Nice day here with a good breeze, even though it is a bit nippy so I did three loads of washing including the bedding and it all dried :j

Borrowed a friend's spare transit van and spent the morning at Wickes getting plasterboard and finishing plaster, which is now sitting in the utility room  DH is just going to patch it until after Christmas and then he will replace the whole ceiling.
I am trying to talk him into new kitchen units from Ikea as well as a bathroom refurb ;)

It cost a total of £25 and we felt it better to do it ourselves because we have a £200 excess on our house insurance, so no point in phoning them. It is a good job the kitchen is small, not that I am always moaning that it is :p
The plumber cost nothing because it was on our Homeserve policy which doesn't have an excess charge. I have had the policy for ten years and I have never had to use them before, all in all I am very happy with their service.

Dinner tonight is chicken in Mushroom sauce with baked new potatoes and HG runner beans.

Thanks for the heads up on the Aldi coupon donnygal x

Camelot, it sounds awful up there, hope all our Scottish friends keep safe and warm, I believe they have forecast snow tonight for Scotland, NI and Northern areas
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Evening Everyone

The weather isn't so bad, wet and windy at times with unbelievable hail stones too. There was more thunder at lunch time but there has been worse weather with no warnings. More to come so hope it doesn't get any worse.

Chap from boiler company came and says he has fixed the fault, not sure he will have as he came last time and didn't find the fault. Still I have a 5 year guarantee and they come out pretty quickly.

BB - Glad your leak is fixed, don't envy you having a whole new ceiling!

DD and I have been busy, we put the stuff back in the shed from when it was moved to have the fence put in, got some bits and pieces we needed out of the cellar, reached down the christmas decorations and decorated the tree, baked biscits and mince pies and cooked pasta meetballs for tea.

Take care, stay safe, warm and dry. XX
