Woo! Had a fairly good day yesterday after all that (money-wise, at least). Technically no-spend day (had to pay for an eye test but expensed it back to my company so I have the money back for it). NSD!
Hoping for another NSD today as I can get lunch in the canteen and my partner and I are going to view properties this evening, and then home for a nice dinner (which he's buying!) so nothing to spend on
Saving my money this week as I've been invited out twice (Thursday meeting an old friend and Friday big dinner with boyfriend's friends and girlfriends). Also doing my best to calorie deficit so I can enjoy both dinners
Got a voucher for Burberry beauty so going in tomorrow for a beauty appointment to spend it.
Bought a handbag the other day, which I have decided to return. Nice refund to the credit card0 -
Yesterday
Last night I went to a beauty consultation thing. I'd wanted to buy some new beauty highlighter which I use everyday, and they were offering it along with a full beauty consultation, so I got to try loads of things and get loads of samples for free! Plus they gave me two glasses of champagne for free! Why not...
Exciting news, my partner and I offered on a house (to rent not to buy) yesterday and were accepted! We paid part of the deposit yesterday and are just waiting for referencing to come through.
Today
Tonight I'm going out for dinner with a friend. But it's not too expensive a place so that's good. I want to get home at a decent time too so I'm only going to have dinner and then go. Also not drinking alcohol as I am cutting down and had champagne yesterday.
Today was payday and I got paid much much more than I thought I would due to getting a new tax code. I don't know if it'll come back to bite me, but I basically didn't pay any tax. Actually I got tax refunded?!
£232 towards bills for next month
£130 towards groceries and joint expenditure for the month
£66 towards car maintenance/insurance for next year
£115 to my cashcard to spend on stuff (socialising, going away this weekend, going shopping next week)
£120 paid off my holiday in September
£30 to my Natwest overdraft
£30 to my Barclays overdraft
£680 to my MBNA credit card (I consolidated)
£195 to my style account on LRD (AND I'M CLOSING THE ACCOUNT)
£95 to Very (AND CLOSING THE ACCOUNT TOO)
= £1150 paid off just to debt this WEEK. Not even done for this month.
With another £750 forecasted for the end of the month, I'm making a good dent in my debt
The future
Unfortunately, I may have to set up a finance plan with a furniture company as we need a new sofa for the house. I'm going to see if my boyfriend is willing to set it up in his name instead and I'll just set a direct debit straight to the account like I did with my bicycle, and get it paid off in 9 months or something. Have spoken to Nanny and she is on the lookout for decent antique furniture (my grandparents have an antique centre). I think I can get antique for almost the same price as new but it'll be better quality and more lasting.
Boyfriend doesn't have a credit card but has applied for a 0% barclaycard with the plan being we put all our furniture on that, leave the card in the cupboard and set up a monthly direct debit to pay it down. Makes sense to me and I'm confident I'll stick to it because it's not my card :T When I borrowed money off my Mum's credit card I paid it off really regular. It's my own spending where I'm rubbish...
Viewing sofas next week. Hopefully referencing is done for the property this week. So far we've agreed a key swap on the 25th. Exciting!!0
