Fractured ankle question

Options
My dd fractured her ankle in August cast came off the end of September, she is still having a lot of pain and swelling so I took her back to the Doctor.

She has been x rayed and the fracture is still showing[ a line ] is this normal ? She is being referred to the orthopaedic dept at hospital but never having had a broken bone myself could someone tell me if once properly healed the fracture would still show on an x ray ?

This is mainly medical advice - which isn't allowed.

    Ask the Dr these questions.

One thing though is that ankles are an absolute b*&&er to heal, and really need rest, raising and ice packs for a long long time.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Depends what the line is. Regrowth? Compaction? Yr consultant will be the only person who,can confirm anything. Who said it had a line, as its not a technical term i know

It has been re x rayed as the ankle is causing her a lot of discomfort and its clearly swollen, the "line" is the GP's interpretation of the report. He is unsure so is referring her to Orthopaedics.

From my experience i broke foot years ago and still get discomfort from it especially in the winter, as your doctor/specialist everything it may not have healed correctly.

Update- My GP rang at 7 last night asking if I could take dd to the orthopaedic ward straight away as they were concerned it looked worse, they re x rayed it and all looks fine the fracture has healed but they will call today after a case meeting to say if they want her to have a CT scan ,they are concerned there was some ligament damage.

We expected that to be the case but her ankle was quite swollen had it not been for that I probably would have just seen how things went over the next few weeks.
