Mattress - which one of these two would you buy?

Does anyone own either of these mattresses, Silentnight Miracoil 7 Hepworth Pillowtop Double Mattress or Sealy Posturepedic Pillow Top and Memory Mattress and if so would you recommend them?

I want to get a mattress ordered tonight if possible.

  • I've read some bad things recently about sealy mattresses , including their bad customer support.

Both made by the same company, Silentnight make and sell Sealy under licence.

You'd get much better value for money with smaller brands.

I could not see any reviews on the Sealy mattress but any reviews I read about Sealy themselves were not good especially in recent times.

That all depends on various factors, best value for money, best mattress at all. Turnable, non turn, memory.
    The list goes on.

What size are you after and what budget do you have.

Looking for a standard double mattress and budget is preferably no more than £450. The only other request is that the mattress is comfortable and so helps with a good nights sleep.

As comfort is so open ended and subjective I can't recommend an individual product. Just too many to choose from and what you find comfortable will vary massively to what I find comfortable. We are all different weights, sizes and shapes. No one mattress suits all.

The only bed I even recommend is a water bed.

As for a normal mattress look for pocket springs 1000-2000, if you want a one sided one go for memory foam on top of the springs.

Go into a local independent bed store and try some out, that's the only way of finding the correct comfort level for you.

Decent semi brands: Kaymed, King Koil, Healthbeds.

Good non brand: Deep Sleep, Restus/Kozzeesleep, Dreamworks

You should get a pretty cracking mattress for that size budget, hope that helps a little and hope you understand why it's so hard to recommend a product. Even in our shop with over 50 beds/mattresses to choose from, it's got to be the customer decision as only they know how the mattress feels to them.

What type of base is this mattress going on?
