I eventually looked up 'Anglo Saxon pronunciation' on wikipedia and found that the first bit is pronounced as two syllables - say-ax-win. So now we know!
I was well off - I was pronouncing it see-swin in my head. Don't know how I came up with that?
Saying that, I had trouble with 'Hermione' and 'Siobhan' until a few years ago
Why can't we just write phonetically???
