Hi All,
Apologies as this may be in wrong forum but I could really do with some help!!
I have just received a letter from the credit control dept of a company called maths 100. They have requested a payment of £1300 for services received. Something of a shock as I canceled the contract by direct debit approx 1 month after it started, almost 2 years ago!! i have spoken to them today and explained that in this period I have received nothing in correspondence from them either in form of a query as to canceled direct debit or the goods themselves. Anyway they at first said we owe them £1600 then said £1300 and now offered £350 as settlement. They said that this was the "sort of contract you just can't cancel" I have asked them for a copy of the contract. They have acknowledged the fact that I phoned to cancel 2 years ago but they said they told me at the time that I couldn't cancel. This is the first I've heard from them in this time and now they're threatening action for recovery, as they've said they've had to keep a tutor on "standby". Also, this scheme was advertised by my children's school and i hope this if nothing else might send a few alarm bells to anyone else considering Maths 100!! T
