Carboot v Ebay
Crashtogether
Having a good old clear out and have collected many quality items still in their boxes (mainly unwanted gifts) that i want to sell.
i've never done a carboot sale and never sold on ebay so wondered if anybody thinks one is better than the other? Any tips on getting the best prices?? Best location?
at the moment ive got room to store things but am hoping to get rid of stuff within the next month or so.

Should get a better price on ebay but then the fees could end up more expensive than a car boot .... don't have to worry about the weather with ebay .... at least with a car boot its one mornings work then its done, with ebay its dribs and drabs of work .... if its more specialised stuff you should o better with ebay ... good luck!!

I've been thinking about this myself.
I have decided to do a car boot first, then anything that I'm left with i will stick on Ebay or give to charity.I'm not lost. I'm just going the long way round.....0 -
My other half and I did a car boot recently that went pretty well, we made £125 ish. I recommend you take almost everything to do the car boot with, as people really will buy the most obscure things, especially old clothes and the like. The only thing is you wont get the best prices at the car boot, so hang on to any specialist or particularly well kept items for Ebay. If you're not sure, do a bit of Ebay research first to see what similar items are going for and then decide. Also visit the car boot first to see what kinds of things people sell.
Make sure you get there really early, as first thing people will come around, usually from the other stalls looking to buy from you then sell on. We sold a box of 20 videos in the first 5 minutes! Don't be intimidated by people haggling as they always will try and get it cheaper. Remember that chances are that someone else will want it and you'll be able to sell it later at the cheaper price if you need to.

Would agree with Steven77 here. Check completed listings on ebay for the items you have - things that don't sell at car boots are unlikely to sell well on Ebay (but you never know!). Research Amazon for selling books too as I have sold quite a few books on there and it's good.
Car boots - likely to clear more stuff in one go, but have to be prepared to let things go for pennies really. Perhaps ebay/amazon and anything left car boot?
