£41 on a return train ticket.
Lots more in the sales buying gifts for next year and reduced luxury meats for the freezer. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
House Bought July 2020 - 19 years 0 months remaining on term
Next Step: Bathroom renovation booked for January 2021
Goal: Keep the bigger picture in mind...0 -
I have bought most of the presents we buy just a couple to order, I have 6 grown up nieces and nephews and two little one's. I told the big one's I was getting them a goat this year as they are all over 20 and the reason we stopped buying amongst the siblings was because it gets harder to think of something.. I don't mind spending the money but I hate to think I am buying something useless. We spend a bit extra on food as we entertain all the family for Christmas day and DS will be staying for almost 2 weeks. I reckon we will spend about £600 this year.0

I'll be spending about $2000 all up
This includes presents for our 3 children, presents for my parents and their partners and the inlaws, 2 secret santa gifts, my 2 closest friends children - 7 in total, my 2 nieces and 2 nephews, my hubby and our food including some food gifts I like to make for friends.
We have all our decorations from previous years and DS2 and I are going to make our own wrapping paper.
I love Xmas and its so much fun with little ones in the house.
Still need to get a tree though!! :xmastree:Love people use things. The opposite never works.0 -
our family have now decided that you just have to buy one present for one person (ie pull the name out of a hat). means you can spend a bit more thought about what to get that person and of course cheaper. little kids might not like it though0

I just don't get what you can spend £2000 on, unless you've bought 'big' presents for everyone...0 -

We have about 20 people to buy for. We don't have to buy food as we go to family for dinner, plus my children are 4 and 2, so don't eat much.
I think we've spent about £400, but with about £600 worth of gifts through, bargain hunting, freebies, offers, re-gifting, homemade etc. Next year, I want to save even more.0
