    Sorry Vanda,

I forgot to day that that was the part I have checked out. Apparently your credit rating isn't affect by simply owning but not using credit cards, which is effectively what I would be doing.

What I mean is, would I have to pay any fees if I cancel the cards (once I have the cashback) even though I won't have used any of them for anything?

They will show up on your credit record as "requests for credit" , so if you applied for , say a mortgage , they would look back , and wonder why all of a sudden you have so many requests for credit cards.

This can be a pain , as they sometimes think you are in financial difficulties , hence the request for credit.
James thinks worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere

If i help you...Please thank me!

I would recommend that you apply for one say now, then another one in a few months time rather than doing them all in one go, as it could look rather bad etc etc

So agreeing here with you Manch totally!!!
Saving for a lovely summer holiday. Will it be Evesham or Egypt???

Can you ring up and cancel a credit card? I've got two I've had for years and never use now. I did the Credit rating on Quidco and they are on there hence it made me think can I cancel them? thanks.

Of course you can cancel them to get them off your credit report. I think your request usually has to be in writing, but ring them up and ask.
  • Im chuffed!! Order ink cartrdige and free photo paper for £9.95

    -£9.00 Cashback = 95p!! :T
  • Having credit cards and not using them will still show up on your credit report. They will also look at the credit limit on each one and think if you get financial problems and decide to max them all out then that is how much debt you will be in.

If you don't have any plans for other important stuff like a loan or mortgage then go for it but cancel them after Quidco has paid out.

However also, don't they say that it is useful to have at least one credit card on your credit report to show some sort of credit history and that you can have it and not get into a mess with it.
  • Hi all, I'm new to the site and had a question about Quidco.
Does anybody know if they give cashback on Grocery purchases through Tesco? The detail is not very clear (to me anyway!).
    Thanks,

You can get £5 cashback on your very first grocery order with Tesco but nothing for any subsequent orders.

Welcome to the site, by the way!
  • Usually I do my daily clicks before taking the children to school and they've usually tracked by lunch time......not today though! Has anyone else not had their dailies tracked yet?
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)
