StepChange recommended pro rata payments, I've just looked back through the paperwork they sent us. I'll offer the amounts they recommended when composing the letters. Really not with it today, sorry.

    !

Make sure the amounts on the financial statement you send are with the increase to food etc that I mentioned above - Stepchange should have allowed a lot more for things as well.

After you have increased the figures make sure the offers Stepchange recommended are still correct - if not use their debt remedy calculator and input all your figures for expenditure and debts and it will work out new figures for you.

Now is not the time to be making offers that are too high - better to start low and get higher over time.

Today I've redone the StepChange debt remedy tool and written the letters to go to Barclays and First Direct using StepChange's template.

DD is off school with the nasty cold and cough she and I have both been battling over the weekend. She's 12, so fairly easy to care for when poorly and at least able to communicate how she's feeling and what her symptoms are. So much harder when they're little.

Been offered an interview on Friday for a local part-time admin role. The hours would be ideal for managing my health and the income would be a huge help. Keeping everything crossed and preparing for it over the next few days.

Feeling very bleurgh still, so spending time reading your diaries, but not really posting my support. I will improve and write posts soon!

    Hope you're all okay.

  • Hi Notepad,

Good luck for the job interview!

Getting to grips with finances/debt is difficult, but you are heading in the right direction!
  • Excellent work on doing the Debt Remedy again.

    Hope DD feels better soon.

Great news about the interview - sounds just what you need.

Remember if you get the job you do not review your offer to creditors until 3 or 6 months has passed. In the mean time you can continue to build your emergency fund and car fund.
