Mortgage?

My situation is that my husband and I have been in a Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS Scotland) for the last three years which is now complete.
What I need advice with is how long do we need to wait before having any chance of being accepted for a mortgage without extortionate interest rates? Also what percentage of a deposit would we need to be in a more favourable position?
Our combined salary is in the region of £70,000 per annum with no debts now that our plan is complete.
Any advice appreciated.
