HI OCC and PL I couldn't agree more with you both. I'm also super excited when DD and DS start doing more activities. Although I think we need to find some suitable activities for DS soon so he can channel all that energy into something more productive :rotfl:
Although I'd don't how we'll afford all the things i'd like them to try its so expensive in London.
I better get surveying and ebaying hehe xx1.7.15: £157,469.64, 10.02.16: £93,434.74

OOC, I suppose I do a lot with my son at home. He's not really much a children's child and prefers to be around older children or adults.
Absolutely agree about sticking with something. Son will get to choose for himself whether he carries on with music when he gets to Grade 8, as I believe learning to play an instrument to that standard teaches children all sorts of things, many that you mention. Will always make it fun for him though and he loves it.
Exercise is also very important but I don't see the point in paying for it when we live in excellent countryside, open to explore for free.2018 totals:

Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
^^^^ there's such great parents in here. Despite being mfw's nothing stops the kids getting what they need
big pat on backs everyone
Co op bank are in my good books today. Apparently I will receive £4 per month for having an account with them which will be paid straight to mortgage once it's received every monthand also my quidco £80 for opening an account with them was finally available to payout so will form part of this months op!!! Thanks co op.
Brought one bulb got the house and one for the car!!! About £20 in total. Dog food purchased £21. Also brought a book on cbt £14 (text books are expensive!) it was personal spends payday today so a little treat for me!
having shop painted at moment which is very stressy as contractors using zero common sense plus it's gone really cold so paint is drying very slowly. Will be finished tomorrow as scaffold is down and last bits are being done. Signwriter can't come til Monday but that's not an issue.
The BF is off to Glasgow Friday for work, will be extra busy for the next week but will have free evenings for lots of spreadsheet fiddling!
BF snoring and Miniocc talking in his sleep I'm in spare room totally awake!0 -
OOC, your previous posts about activities have made me wonder if my son perhaps prefers the company of older children and adults because he spends very little time around children of his own age. Even most of his class are in Year 2 and he's the youngest by over a year in his orchestra.
Excellent news re. co-op bank.
Everyone on here seems to spend extortionate amounts of money on bulbs! £14.00 for textbook isn't bad, though. A few I purchased for my current MA have been getting on for £100. What are your plans for the CBT / Counselling course, are you hoping to practice?2018 totals:

Miniocc used to prefer older kids / adults now it's definately moved towards his own age plus older boys. Still though he goes to clubs where he is the youngest and doesn't mind one bit.
Perhaps try a local beavers group when he's old enough, scouting seems to fit your lifestyle choice and from my experience miniocc loves it as its all fun.
The books can be so much, I've ben scouting second hand And online. I'm still deciding on if I'm hoping to practice, the training (if you do it properly which I would) is extensive and will take another 3 years. It just depends if I can do it. I really want to be able to help people I really do. I need to decide if I Want to focus on person centred solely or incorporate CBT too. I'm investigating which way is like to go.
In other news was gym today but I've paid the term in advance,no other spends today. £5 cashback from TSB for the month use of contactless which was sent straight to mortgage.
That's all folks0 -
OP made today of £25, a payment from quidco rounded up, plus £20 which was bulbs I paid for that should have come from bills account but I put yo mortgage.
Spent £2 on snacks cos I needed a pick up. Got a could more things to review. All very useful stuff.0 -
Finally got to finish my post from earlier....
Had another guttering quote, a bit of a wide boy type by all accounts and a quote of £4K which is more than the really nice bloke. Will get one more quote but it looks like £3.5-£4K is the ballpark area. A little more than I had guessed but close enough.
I already have £500 on one side but should have the other £3000 in no time with some serious saving. I do have about £2000 extra in my regular saver but would like to retain as much of this as possible. I started the regular saver to save towards renovations but now it's building up I don't want to spend it!!!
I will limit OP's to my monthly target of £500 until I have the guttering money on one side.
Am going to try and shave a few pounds off the budget all over to achieve savings. Mostly will limit personal spends to very little.
I have so much to spread the money around at the moment, luckily there's no rush on any of the things so no panic!
The BF is off with work Friday morning but I've got a busy weekend with football and dance. MiniOCC has been asked to play with the next age group up so will be in a tournament again this Sunday although he will find this more difficult with the big boys.0 -

I think my son would enjoy Beavers too. After looking into it, I've found two local groups so I think it's definitely worth trying. Think it will be September before he is allowed to start, though.
Definitely a good idea re. the books.ourcornercottage wrote: »Finally got to finish my post from earlier....

Is it worth you getting a few more quotes for the guttering?
Sounds like you're doing well with the savings and overpayments. To be honest, I know exactly where you're coming from re. not wanting to spend on renovation work. I got so disillusioned with the money going on some slates that will not change the appearance of my house that I spent all the money on a car ... doesn't make the house any drier though! :rotfl:2018 totals:
