Problem with Energynote on Geo solo II PV

Has anyone else had problems with the internet side of your PV monitoring? My unit works ok, with good connection however the totals on the EnergyNote site fails to add the daily totals so those figures are useless. I sent an email to them and this was the reply...

We are aware of the issues on Energynote and this is being looked at by our software engineers,
We are currently testing the new version of energynote (14.1) once the testing is complete we will be releasing it very soon and migrate all our customers to the new version.

So this should automatically rectify the issues your are seeing.

We do not have a date for this but this should be happening fairly soon.

If you are not happy with the product and it was purchased from us direct, i will be happy to issue you a refund.

Kind regards,

GEO Support

For a while mine wasnt working, but then i noticed the sensor was hanging off the meter! Other than that no issues that i have spotted.

When you go to the analysis page, do the daily figures seem right?

  • The figures on the display are different to the invertor slightly and also the generation meter but not far off. The issue I had was that if i wasn't at home and wanted to see how much my daily figure was it was completely out as there were gaps when the web went down....It is very annoying as that is one of the main reasons I bought the product, but looks like they are trying to rectify it. Frustrates me that they can sell something they know doesn't work properly....

Do you know how you would go about updating the software on it? Would it be automatically over the internet?

  • I've had the same problems. Firstly it was the bridge unit not connecting properly with the internet and now for the past 2-3 weeks no data has been updated on the website, seemed to be slow for a while (updating a few days late) but now no data at all! It is pretty frustrating as I was wanting to get a full years data but can't as I've only had the unit 11 months. Hopefully the update comes sooner rather than later but last time I contacted them by email it took 2 weeks for a reply so I'll not hold my breath!!

I don't have the same issue as you guys but sometimes when I logon online (at work) it takes a short while, sometimes a few minutes to display the data in real time.

It's very frustrating as I have 3 active smartplugs on my appliances so if I want to turn on the washing machine or dishwasher I have to wait till it displays anything before it will work.

I do love the smartplugs though as I can see the consumption profile of each appliance which I find interesting as I'm a scientist so a complete data geek...

Another annoyance is that to operate the smartplugs I have to have it on consumption mode rather than generation. doesn't affect the readings it takes or the display, other than I have a budget displayed but it would be nice if I could have it in generation mode.

Other than that I'm really happy with it.

  • I just checked online to see about the problems you have and I don't have that problem. I can see the totals for each month (well, back to September when it was installed), etc... seems to be working fine.

Maybe the bug is only a problem if it's in generation mode, ideally what mine WOULD be on if it was compatible with smartplugs.

  • The internet should automatically update itself but they don't know when.

The figures are quite accurate and my electrician confirmed that it is one of the most accurate meters out there.

Another weird thing is that the internet site records a small amount (0.010kw) about every three hours OVERNIGHT!! Haha - maybe I'm onto the new source of "Moonlight" panels?!

I have a similar thing! Sometimes when i glance at my meter at night there is 0.007kw being produced for a split second. WEIRD

The energynote server seems to have been down all weekend. Is everyone else seeing the same thing? I guess this will be another hole in the data.

The Chorus is a great product with possibly the best UI. It's just let down by iffy software that could so easily be rectified. Geo claim to be aware of the issues, they're always working on them but nothing ever gets fixed!

Interesting that you can't buy the Chorus from geo's shop anymore?

Glad I didn't get one with all the problems folk have?
