There's no such thing as toning in a fitness sense, when people talk about toning they generally mean building muscle, which doesn't go down well often as people think they will bulk up. How you look at a certain weight when you exercise compared to not may be very different, but that's still not toning. Pilates and similar classes will help strengthen your core, but generic body sculpt, body tone classes, it's just a name.
If people lift heavy weights, do hiit and eat clean they'll build muscle and drop body fat.
Look better, but that's hard work, still isn't this magical word, toning.
You can have a toned tum, legs arms etc, but if you want to be able to see the tone, you need to get rid of the fat layer hiding it.
A visible difference can be made without lifting weights, just using bodyweight exercises.
I guess it depends on your diet. I didn't change my diet but I eat healthy anyway, I just cut down on alcohol and cheese but everything else stayed the same. Didn't follow the insanity diet schedule at all, just the workouts and I actually lost stone in month and a half!! Maybe I was drinking too much- I would have at least a pint or two glasses of wine a day x
