Amazon Prime - check out the new delivery dates

I just placed an order on Amazon and have a prime subscription.

I notice that their shipping terms have changed. For purchases made today (Monday) the page is displaying "In stock and Sold by Amaon UK. Choose one day delivery option for delivery by Thursday 4th December"

I contacted them on chat and they state "Amazon Prime entitles you to one day shipping service - the item will be delivered the day after dispatch. However we reserve the right to alter the dispatch date depending on the volume of orders placed"

So in such cases the use of prime entitles you to receive your item in the same time period as those ordered without prime. hmmm doesn't sound like a deal to me.
