As a result of reading this I've just cancelled an £18.62 direct debit that DH had for some sort of insurance from when he was in the army - he left 18 months ago! He doesn't know what its for or where the paperwork is so its being cancelled!!
Thanks! :T0 -
Great idea - my challenge at the moment is to cut down on 'non-list items' (the things that 'fall' into the shopping trolley that weren't on the shopping list) - I reckon that will save me about £10 a week or over £500 a year!
That's me too - last Friday, Mr T's fish counter threw a whole salmon into my trolley
(he was reduced to £11 & we eat salmon a lot, and I got his trimmings to make stock out of too, so not so bad!) 0 -

That's £12 a week or £48 a month  It has to go! I have a flask - I'm going to start taking coffee in with me.
I started to do this and had my cuppa tea in my bag one day....hadn't closed it properly and it went all over my mobile...had to buy a new one and cost me £50. Kind of defeated the object:rolleyes:WIN £2008 in 2008 £1836.31 2009 wins - £91!!! 2010 wins in Oz $ 6170.... wins 2011 aprox $2000

I WILL cancel the direct debit for the internet connection I don't use anymore. £15 a month - not much, but £180 a year - better in my pocket than theirs!!
If anyone would like to nag me remorselessly till I do this, please feel free
Hi Red Squirrel - internet connection cancelled yet??!! Well you did ask to be politely reminded....!
Great thread BTW. My not-so little things:
I've cancelled the gym - saving £42 p/m, saving 504 GBP a year
Moved 4100 of debt to 0% interest free for 13 months, savinig about 280 quid a year
Got DH to do the same with his O/D and c/c, saving him/us 400 quid a year ish
Started a monthly food budget rather than just spending whatever, think our food bills have come down by over £100 p/m so £1,200 for the year
WOW - looking at all that, it's over 2,300 GBP a year - definitely the right direction!
Also I should look into switiching energy providers as we just went with the ones that were set up when we moved in nearly 2 years ago! Tips on here tell me to use quidco for this, yes...??
Hugs to all,
NTL
