I deduce from your posting that you like the role in finance more, so doing the job that you like the most should the deciding factor (regardless of travel-time or days-off considerations). The extra 5K pa is valuable bonus! Unquestionably, you did the right thing.

I also think you made the right decision, for sure. Especially for your family who will benefit from the 5k extra income.
Some people struggle to find one job, let alone two, so have confidence in yourself that people WANT to employ you for you experience/qualifications/personality... and be proud of that!
