Using Family and Friends Railcard without child

I have a family and friends railcard as I often travel with my daughter and sometimes my husband as well to the South. I urgently need to travel to London on Tuesday and will have to stay at Paddington Station from 1am until my app at 9am as its too expensive for tv trains nearer the time.
Currently I'm being charged between £42 to £75 for a Worcester to London return journey.
However if I add one daughter to the journey and add my railcard it works out to £35. Can I book it like that even though my daughter will not be travelling with me.

Thanks

Yes you can book it but the railcard rules are quite clear that you must have a child with you when travelling with F&F railcard reduced tickets.

    From the T&Cs:
Group size: At least one named cardholder and at least one child must be travelling to enable discounted tickets to be used.
  • Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately my daughter is 7 so will be in school I will just have to pay the full price.
    Thanks

You can get the 05.11, 05.31 or 06.14 to Worcester Shrub Hill for £38.
To get back, you can get Advance tickets from Euston to Birmingham for £6, plus £7.80 single Bham to Worcs. Alternatively if you can get someone to collect you from Kiddy, you can get an advance Euston to Kiddy for £11.50.

When travelling in the evenings, the "Kiddy trick" is a good bet - you can get Worcs to Kiddy for £3.50 and get to/from London for a tenner each way from there. A bit longer than going direct but savings to be had. Plenty of free parking around Kidderminster station too if you go direct from there.

I also have a network railcard which means, off peak, I get a return to South of London for £37.90.
