    Off on a tangent here.....
I only ever get the newspapers free via Waitrose (and long may it continue:D:)
..... unless the paper has a really good coupon/voucher (used the Sun coupon for free fruit and veg in Morrisons yesterday which was brilliant btw..)

But WHY is anyone interested enough in Kerry Katonas marital ups and downs to warrant buying the Star?
    Or that of Peter Andre?
    Or Jordan (aka Katie Price)
or any of these z list celebrities?

No offence to these individuals, I do not wish them any harm, but equally WHY is anyone outside their immediate circle of family and friends remotely interested?

I assume the individuals concerned have a financial and/or psychological need to keep seeing their face in the papers.
But, surely the papers are guilty of abuse/exploitation in some way.

These people need to either get a proper job if they are doing this for purely financial reasons, or to get therapy, years and years of professional input if their problem is psychological.
NOT to have their face in the papers again and again.
Which surely is the equivalent of giving drugs to an addict just so the paper can have some cheap column inches.

But the fact is some people must actually buy the papers/magazines because of these stories - otherwise these papers would not be giving column inches (and front pages) to them.
So if anyone reading this is genuinely interested in these people, eg Kerry, and buys the paper because of this story, could they please explain to me why - p.m me if you don't feel like sharing on here.
    Thanks

Isn't it for much the same reason that so many people watch so many trashy programmes (sorry - shows!) featuring worthless 'celebrities'?

The programmes contain little but vacuous 'celebrities' talking rubbish and showing off their low-grade 'talents'.

Don't Hello and OK magazines (and the Mail website for that matter) pander to the same market?
