The kids I work with went and bought me a small leaving gift today, some packs of incense and a holder, and a little wooden heart with the word 'smile' written on it. Really sweet gesture from them, definitely need to buy some goodies for them for my last day.
I keep hearing about this thing called British Military Fitness so I googled it today. They run a group 2 miles away from me. They have loads of (pricey) options but I saw one which might appeal to me, where you buy vouchers for 10 sessions to use when you want. I might do a free trial at some stage and see if I want to do that afterwards. I don't like doing the same exercise every week so that kind of casual use works best for me. Think I'm starting to get into this exercise lark! I always thought I didn't like exercising around others either, but the horse riding and the race yesterday proved otherwise! Either way I'd have to save £145 which is a lot of money for me right now so it may not happen when I have other priorities.
In other news, I was doing some research into courses relating to my career and found one I really want to do. It potentially starts in October, with a year to complete, and costs about £600. Again it's something I need to see if I can afford. It genuinely sounds like a fantastic course and I'd love to do it, but I need to see what money allows. I'm a firm believer on investing in career and education and it would allow me.to become an accredited practitioner in one of the fields I work in, so would definitely be worth it. I will have to do some digging and see if work may contribute but it's a long shot
Decided to cancel my planned zero hours work on Thursday as it's my last week in my main job so I'd like to spend time with my colleagues instead.
Small spend today in Tesco but all on budget. Finances looking good this week.0 -
Hi lcc86. Would it be worth looking at a student loan. I've got one and I don't really class it as debt, but an investment.
Im also going to talk to work about part funding my course - even £50 or £100 would be great.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hi parsniphead, that could definitely be something worth looking into, I hadn't considered it because the course is quite cheap compared to university but I'll look around and see what might be available. Tbh I might be able to save enough in time as I'll be saving money on travel from next Monday, but have my car insurance due in September which has to take priority as I definitely don't want to be paying that monthly!!0

Expenses sorted through work, just waiting for them to hit my bank account, then the rest of my phone debt will be paid off :j I've also had the majority of my direct debits and bills go through today, so have updated my signature to reflect this.
Paid an additional £2 off my debt this morning. Over the next week I don't have many spends planned. This hot weather has made it almost impossible to stay on track in regards to food spending, I've been so hot I've bought ice lollies (granted only £1 for 6) but also I've had to top up on deodorant and body spray. Luckily I had money left over from my night out so it's not a big deal, but need to keep an eye on my spending.
Off to the cafe tomorrow for lunch as a goodbye to a couple of people in my team, and possibly on Friday with a couple of others, but we'll see.0 -
Managed to clear my phone debt and the last of my vet bill so that's two of my targets hit this month already
Said my goodbyes to my team over the last few days. We had some goodbye drinks but I didn't have to pay for anything. I felt like a bit of a !!!!!!!!!! but they wouldn't let me pay! I feel bad not paying my way if that makes sense. Feel quite sad about leaving my job. Although I know I've done the right thing I have made some really good friends and it hasn't hit home yet that I won't be seeing them on Monday. I still feel like I'm going to get up and go in so Monday morning will be a bit of a shock.
Went out with OH last night for a few drinks, nothing too expensive, think I spent about £15 and it was budgeted for.
Today am off to see a friend at her house, also need to pick up a prescription. My hoover has picked this morning to pack up so I need to get on to Dyson as I think it's had this fault before. Only problem is I don't know if it's still under warranty  could get pricey but we shall see.
Happy MSEing this weekend everyone0 -
Hiya Hun, I know what you mean, had the same thing. Will miss colleagues dreadfully. But risk and change is good according to the people I listened to yesterday - just slightly feeling like 'I want to go home' :rotfl:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Thanks supersaver, I was writing out my weekly activity plan (sounds lame but was recommended by my doctor when I was feeling very low and it works a treat), and from tomorrow I will have so much more time available every day now that commuting is off the cards. Reminded me that that was part of the reason I did this so I must keep that in the forefront of my mind.
Today nothing fun planned, just many boring chores and a tiny bit of food shopping. Waiting to hear from Dyson about my hoover, really hoping it's still under warranty.. Going to be fun cleaning with a dustpan and brush in the meantime  it's just started chucking it down outside so that will motivate me to stay in and get everything done rather than slob out hehe. Also want to go for a run today, have done no exercise this week as it's been so hot so no excuse today! :rotfl: signed up for a free trial session of British Military Fitness in a couple of week's time. I also found out I might be able to get a discount if I sign up as I work for a local authority but need to wait for them to confirm.
Right, time to get up, make a healthy shake for breakfast and get on with my day!0 -
Good luck with the fitness training. I nearly went to a military boot camp class last year but my fitness is at Rock bottom. I really should go. Perhaps if you report on it and the level of pain afterwards....;)
Make the best of not commuting. You're going to have so much more time.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
