John Lewis bed linen

I've always bought my bed linen at JL and have always been very pleased with quality and lasts for years. It's time for me to stock up on basics (pillowcases, sheets). Has anyone bought these items recently and could comment on whether their quality is still good? (Heard the odd story of things being not quite as good a previously).
Thanks

I've been happy with JL linen I got a couple of years ago but I know 2 people that aren't.0

We bought a new sheet a month ago - Egyptian cotton. Seems very good quality and it's washed beautifully. No idea how it will wear though.0

I've had mixed results. Their standard quality stuff has not lasted well, the high thread count has fared better. I found the flannelette disappointingly thin and sent them back.
Do not buy Mr T's Finest. They lost their colour by the third wash.
Try looking at ACHICA. They sometimes have very good offers ( but you do need to double check other retailers;) ). I recently bought high thread count pillowcases, so obviously cannot comment on how well they will last.0 -
I have to say that I was disappointed the last time i went to buy bedlinen at JL (which i had used for 40+ years!)
I had a big shop to do, and a friend put me on to Just Linen (Dawsons) whose stuff I have found to be reasonable & excellent quality.0 -
I had always bought bed Linen from JL, but in the last few years I have bought egyptian cotton from Dunelm, we have an extra deep mattress on our bed and they do the extra deep fitted sheets which are brilliant, apart from the fact that I hate ironing fitted sheets!!0

I know the feeling I love my fitted sheets but hate ironing them My JL ones are prety good though quality wise. The best pair of single sheets I have are a pair of Dorcas flat ones I bought for my DD when she moved from a cot into a bed as a little girl of two to make room for her little sister. They are pink striped ones and are as good as the day I bought them, plus the pillow case to match and my daughter will be 47 next Tuesday so they don't owe me anything:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I use them on my spare room bed.0 -
Thanks for replies. Tricky one, though 100% cotton shouldn't really be rocket science to get something decent.. I will have to take the plunge as I've not been that impressed with other brands I've looked at (often rather thin, looseish stitching). I will look at the Dunelm too as I've never checked there.
Thanks.0 -
Why does anybody iron bed linen? It only gets wrinkled when you get in it!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Used to buy JL bed linen but haven't bought any from there for about 30 years. I have been buying M&S bed linen for the past three or four years. Not had a problem with it. If you buy your sheets, then buy a superking size sheet to match you can make 9 pillowcases from it.0
