Homebase Bishopbriggs closing - excellent discounts

Homebase is closing its branch on the Strathkelvin Retail Park on August 23rd, which is shame, because all of two doors down is an (admittedly massive) B&Q Warehouse, and I shall miss running between the two and playing them off each other for prices
It's not exactly an organised store anymore, and half the store was closed off because the removals guys were in, no doubt transferring the big/easily sellable stuff to other stores.
As you go in to the store, straight ahead of you is the clearance stuff. I picked up packs of laminate flooring for £1, a large blackout roller blind for £14 from a rather massive collection, some half price bathroom accessories for £3, and my pick of aisles and aisles of wallpaper. They also had about six baskets of door handles, priced from £4. Since we were too naive to question CarpetRight's fly-by-night fitters when they announced "Carpets don't need join bars any more" whilst running out of our front door, I've made up for it by choosing carpet bars which were £1.25. There's some garden stuff reduced, but I didn't really look - gardening is not something I can be trusted with
Some nice homewares, not hugely reduced, but cheaper than usual and probably a good buy if you're sprucing up. There were bits and pieces which I'm guessing are very useful for plumbers and people not afraid of power tools, but meant nothing to a first time homebuyer like me, a couple of portable air con units for £135, shelving units, various sticky tapes and adhesives and some light fittings. Plenty of bits and bobs priced from 50p if you're happy to poke around the disorganised shelves, jumble sale style :rotfl:
