I have recently completed a Equifax credit report because my bank stated I had no credit history after doing a quick check to see if I would be eligible for a small loan to support me getting a car. They advised me to do a Equifax credit report and when I ran it I got the shock of my life! It came up with multiple debts some 5years old and some I wasn't even aware of. I want to get rid of them so I can start building my credit even though I thought I was building a good credit score being so careful for the last 20yrs but I don't know where to start ...any advice would be helpful. Thanks

When you say you weren't aware of them, do you mean that you'd forgotten about them but now remember them, or that you don't recognise them at all?
If you don't recognise them at all then you need to ascertain whether they're actually your debts before you do anything else.
Are they showing as defaulted or something else? What will your verse be?
