The ducks are in a quenching tank which is used to cool newly cast or formed parts so my answer was that they are used to support cooling parts. I do not know if this is correct but it is my guess.

If you take a tour around DMM's factory you'll most likely see Medwen busily assembling carabiners. How many on average does she assemble in a day?*

From (short) video, it sounds like she assembles 36, but please check as it isn't clear.

I have just spotted this video on their website and at the 19.30 mark Medwen is said to produce 175 per hour:

If you're referring to the *thanks* on the post above, many people - including moi - will thank a post as they've read it (for the benefit of the poster and to remind oneself where one has read up to in the thread). So maybe no-one has entered this comp today (I, for one, have no idea what the prize is and therefore have no use for it!)
