Better filtering Options ??

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone has the same issues (well not really issues as I'm not moaning) when looking through competitions.
I try and do competitions most nights and think if there were more ways to filter the competitions down so they were manageable then I would be able to enter more in less amount of time.
I was wondering whether it would be possible to be able filter things like :
Only showing the competitions you have not entered, so you know how many there are, as I tend to find that I am flicking through pages of ones I have already done, which wastes time. I do sometimes start at the beginning where new posts are but then find that I have missed ones that were posted late and end early.
Also, maybe a column with the magazine/website name: i.e Shortlist / ITV/ take a break etc etc. As you can log in once and then enter lots at the same time, instead of having to log in again the next day when another comp comes up.
Being able to filter the type of competition: Email / Facebook / Twitter / rafflecopter, as some of these I never do as I don't think the odds are very good. i.e. twitter etc.
I'm sure there are more ways that you could streamline the competitions that you actually want to enter, so you get to enter more instead of trawling through 300 pages as it is never ending. I hope I am not sounding ungrateful as I have won lots of wonderful things doing these competitions, but I suppose it comes from the job I do where I am always looking at quicker ways of doing things in order to maximise job efficiency.
What does everyone else think, and if someone reads this who looks after this kind of thing, is this something that can be looked into ?
Would love anyone's feedback on this.
Thanks RachDFW

I was just thinking the other day it would be good to have a 'hide skipped threads' option or something. I never bother entering to win small prizes like dvds or cds unless it is something that we would watch/listen to so always click the skip button for these.0

I can't believe I am asking this as I have been doing comps for the last 4 years, but what's the skip button ? I always tick the thanks and entered button, but was not aware of a skip button ??Biggest win this year - £500 of Selfridges vouchers0

The skip button is the 'X' that you can see on each post on the main board, or next to the tick on the actual thread

Yep as MillyVanilli says

Don't worry i didn't know about it for ages lol, life became much easier when i figured it out!

ok, now I'm even more confused.
I cannot see an X on each post on the main board - and there definitely isn't an X next to the tick button - the tick is the last thing and next to that is the spam button.
Can someone help ? it sounds like a button that could help me. lol xBiggest win this year - £500 of Selfridges vouchers0 -
hmm i see it on mine. The buttons along the bottom of the OP go: Thanks, Quote, Multiquote icon, Quick reply icon, Report, Spam, Tick then Cross
My display says i'm viewing in linear mode if that means something? It should say 'display mode' at the top right hand corner of the forum0 -
I can only think that some setting are wrong - I am also in linear mode. I wish I could take a pic and show everyone that my skip box isn't there.
If anyone has any idea's on how to get this X box to show, that would be great.
I have looked at previous threads on the x box and can see where it should be but it just isn't there.Biggest win this year - £500 of Selfridges vouchers0 -
Just to add that, I use a laptop at home but have also looked on my PC at work, and both are not showing them up so it must be my settings ?Biggest win this year - £500 of Selfridges vouchers0

Yeah....sorry just fixed it. Apparently I was using the old style formatting and it only shows up on the new formatting. I updated it in the CP user settings.
Thanks for everyone's help. Got there eventually.
Now it would be great if you could filter the entered and skipped comps so it just shows comps that you haven't looked at.Biggest win this year - £500 of Selfridges vouchers0 -
The big thing to remember is that the forums are for the WHOLE of MSE, not just the Comping sub forum. And so the functionality that is available is constrained by that. If you look we're a small corner of the entire forums and what works for us has to work for the rest of the MSE family.
The addition of the ticks and crosses was specifically for Competitions Time (I think???? I might have got this wrong).
So even though there are lots of things that could be done to make it nicer for those of us who comp it has to be weighed against MSE forums as a whole.
I'm sure one of the mods will come along with a better explanation
