Corn starch and corn syrup?

I'd like to make a bird seed wreath as a Christmas present and found a recipe on an American website: http://thismomentisgood.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/bird-seed-wreaths.html?m=1

It calls for corn starch and corn syrup - do you know of if these are available in UK supermarkets? What section would they be in?

Corn starch is cornflour.

You can substitute golden syrup for corn syrup.

Yep, cornstarch is cornflour.

I have seen corn syrup in the 'world foods' section, but I'd probably substitute golden too, as it isn't imported so will be cheaper.

- you could just make your own sugar syrup as I can't see either ingredient would be especially good for birds so I assume it's to help the set and shine
