How about a 2015 calendar with some scenic views of the UK or a National Trust version?

My biggest successes to US friends have been:
as you mentioned, shortbread- they love it in nice tins. Marks and spencer usually have some nice British themed tins at this time of year.
Tea towels from places like Harrods or Fortnum and Mason.
Molton brown hand washes and hand creams
HP sauce
Reusable bags - I've seen nice ones with the London Underground logo recently
Anything Cath Kidston usually went down well too.
A Christmas tree decoration of something like a double decker bus or london cab or even a Scottie dog. (Saw some of these in John Lewis).

My Canadian family also love one or two british magazines - something like Good Housekeeping or Homes and Gardens.

It's a nice gift and I'm sure she will be thrilled with whatever you choose.

Thanks for reminding me, I wanted to end her a Heat magazine more as a joke, so that she can keep up with which of our soap stars have been spotted out and about with sweaty armpits!

John Lewis is on my agenda for the weekend, they have some nice tree decorations/mugs/tea towels in modern English themes etc.
