Dreaming. We seem to have worked for similar organisations! Before I left my role , I wrote up a detailed operations manual for my successor so she would ease her way into the job more easily. Miss Clever Cloggs however decided she would do things "her way" and threw everything out of the window. Things soon went awry and I kept getting phone calls asking for help about problems they had got into. She didn't last long apparently, not having realised that often procedures are put in place for a reason !Anyway back on topic - has anybody been able to sign up yet for the new National Grid rebates yet for avoiding early evening hours? I've read electricity is at its most expensive then and wonder how people can best adapt their usual practices to get the refund? Wont apply to us as we don't have a smart meter but like other practices such cash avoidance it looks as if we,re slowly but inevitably being forced down the compliance route.7

We're on E7 and don't have a smart meter, so we can't, afaik, sign up to the rebate scheme. We've cut back our energy consumption loads anyway, so I think we've already done our bit to help!2025 Fashion on the ration

I think the Scheme is for smart meter users only. We are with eon and have done a few of the 'energy shifts' and its generally challenging you to reduce it by a percentage of the power you usually use at that time . So far the most money paid to us at one go has been about £1.20 IIRC for managing to meet the criteria at a peak time recently there was a 20p and a 50p one . If your energy company isnt offering it, I think you can do it via the loop energy app on your phone (works with your smart meter) but I cant vouch for the payments as we havent needed to use it for them. It is very good at letting you see where things need tweaking though. They arent expecting you to use less over the day, just in the hours givenIts me Culpepper LOL couldn't sign in with the old ID so time for a fresh start....5

I looked at this scheme as I have a smart meter and my provider participates but I'm guessing that as most of my usage is during the day (as I have solar panels) I would not be selected for it. I think it may just shift usage to other times of the day but I suppose that's a good thing.5
