Toonie, have you tried sitting in that room yourself for 2-3 hours? Just sitting there, on the computer or reading, perhaps? Only by trying it yourself will you get an idea of how practical or otherwise it would be. You would then experience for yourself what bits of you get colder than others, and where draughts, if there are any, are coming from. You would then have the insight you need to prep that room for your OH.One life - your life - live it!10

Yes, I've spent a fair bit of time in there recently as I've been going through family photos and things which are stored in there (so sat on the floor with boxes and albums). I found it cool in there but not too cold, and don't really feel any particular drafts coming from any direction. I think going ahead with the initial plans are fine and then he can decide what else may be useful.

Looked out my hand knitted socks to start wearing, they're much warmer than normal ones. Also washed and looked out my 'boot' slippers as well!

Spring didn't suddnly arrive the following day so they had to learn to wait like the rest of us for the slow lengthening of the days, It's been very cold and frosty here today but I keep reminding myself the warmer ,sunnier days will come.As you say Mar we'll just keep rolling along no other choice. I wish you'd semd Wee Nicola down to England. she's cancelled the big new year celebrations and has been very proactive throughout. England is the one country in the UK not taking positive action when needed.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.9 -
Goodness, i'dd better not blink tomorrow and miss my two whole extra seconds of daylight ! . I HATE the winter months and low light levels and would happily hibernate un til Spring comes. The older I get the more of an endurance test winter seems to become!9
