GHD Straighteners.

My partner wants to buy me some GHD straighteners for xmas.

I have some straighteners but they are not GHD and everyone is telling me how wonderful they are and how they would never go back to others.

Ive looked on the GHD site and Im baffled. I first looked at the cheapest ones (Classic £125) and read the reviews. now from reading those they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, so, why do they go to the £200 bracket. Is it worth going for the more expensive ones? They all seem to say they do exactly the same thing so what's different about the models?

I personally didn't think there was anything wrong with the ones I have (Babyliss) so am I really going to see a difference if he pays out X amount of pounds?
He says I can have any I want so Id just like some advice from anyone who uses them. My hair is mid length and curly. With the ones I have now I can get sleek and smooth but as soon as I get near any moisture Im a shrivelled frizz again

I have tried several makes and will always say my GHD are the best. I personally think the cheapest GHD are as good as the more expensive. I have the cheapest and my daughter has the most expensive ones but both do an excellent job.

    Cloud 9
I would buy the Cloud 9 as the guy that made the GHD sold out the business and now makes these.I bought GHD after my old GHD broke and the new GHD which is same model number as my old ones are no where near as good as the old ones.

Thank you- more choices = more confused!

I will have a good read up on these as well, thanks.

Just out of interest, what makes these GHD/Cloud 9 any better than the average straightener, whats different about them?

Arggg, MSE is supposed to give you inspiration to save and here I am having just ordered the cloud 9 (which made me laugh as it is almost the name of my running shoes too!).

My hair is a nightmare, tick and curly and I have been looking for a decent hairstraightener for a long time, like the OP getting very confused with which to get. I saw the amazing reviews on the cloud and got excited that I might finally be able to have decent looking hair! Oh well, an early Christmas present from Self!!!

I had Babyliss ones and now have GHD. I wouldn't buy GHD again, they do the job but no better than the Babyliss ones. I have heard good things about Cloud 9.
