Switching & DD's

Hi All,
I've been a keen switcher for many accounts in my time, purely to receive the incentive banks seem to give you for the switch/closure of the "old" account.
Whenever I do this, I always move at least two DD's (mobile phone accounts) to the "old" account to be switched.
But I've seen a few mentions that people have used PayPal and even the Tesco Bank savings DDs .. Can I assume these switch over to the new accounts without any issues? It'll certainly save a lot of hassle and avoid me keep phone up the mobile company to change the DDs (again.. and again) ;-)
Thanks

Are you setting up DDs so that the banks have something to switch? For most of the offers you don't need to have any DDs switched (although terms of the new account might need DDs for something). I switched from Halifax to First Direct where the old Halifax account had no DDs without a problem.0

If you're using the current account switching service, then I'd expect your direct debits (mobile phone or tesco) to switch just fine. There shouldn't be any need to contact the mobile phone companies as the information should be updated and they then pull the money from the new account.0 -
My latest switch will be the Co-op. I already have a 'donor' account in place, and have moved a couple of DDs from my main account ... however if I can use Tesco saver A/Cs DDs instead then that'll be easier... and of course quicker. If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)0

To answer your original question
my recent experience has been that both Tesco savings account and Paypal DDs transfer successfully when using the current account switching service

If I remember correctly though, both the switched account details and the new account details appear on the list of sources in the Tesco accounts.
I've managed to change the name of those accounts to 'XXX switched' but haven't yet worked out if there's any way to delete them

Interesting point... At least I know I can use the Tesco saver DDs. Thanks for pointing out the slight hitch at the Tesco banking end.If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)0

I have switched from Santander to nationwide and both DD show up on Tescos so you just log into tesco click manage payees and then delete.
If there is a payment due then you need to cancel the payment first before you can delete the payee, I did this this morning when my switch was completed.
