Mortgage Renewed without consent

Hi, I've tried looking for advice on my situation but have struggled so thought I'd ask here.

I split up with my husband early this year. We agreed he would stay in the jointly owned house, paying the bills, and I'd move out with the children as I couldn't afford the house.

Our fixed term was ending in October. He wanted to renew to a cheaper fixed but I said no as we were planning starting the process of him buying me out. Anyway, I found out he renewed it with Halifax without my consent. He admitted via texts he did it to save himself money (£30 a month)

I spoke to a solicitor and CAB and I have more than enough evidence to prove it.

My issue is he is protesting at buying me out, he wants me to sign ur over, he is saying that if I make him buy me out then I'll have to pay half the cancellation fee (2k) leaving me with barely anything after solicitors fees. I have refused to pay a Pennie of the fee as I did not consent to the new mortgage. I'm stuck really though, do I report him now, to avoid being liable? What would Halifax do if I told them?

I really don't want it to have huge repercussions for him but I'm worried if I don't report it and he doesn't pay all/some of the fee they will come after me for it?

Sorry if this using the right place to ask but I'm really stuck :(

You should seek advice from a family law solicitor. Most will give you 30 minutes free consultation. As you need someone to look objectively at the whole situation. As separation is rarely straightforward.
