A4E Reffered Course causing issues.

Hello there everyone.

I've just been for a Structured Jobsearch today with A4E an my advisor came up to me and told me that a course I asked about 2 weeks ago which is Functional Skills and said that they were having an induction today at 2pm, I turned up excited because I wanted to improve my English grade.

Now I asked about this course because a friend I met through another course that ended just last week dropped her place to go into work, I've done my Math Functional Skills at college but they wouldn't allow me to do my English as the college was stopping the course at the end of the year due to poor pass rates on English course which was really upsetting for me at the time.

This 2pm induction today was a nightmare, it didn't start till 2:20 due to inductee being disorganised, halfway through initial assessments were told its on Monday an Tuesday 9:30 till 15:30, problem is that I sign on Monday at 9:20 which is provably something I can work around by going in earlier or later, but every Monday after I sign on I have to wait in to pay loans for my father because he can't actually count anymore so I've got to be there to support him an pay them for him, I can't really work around that as no one else can be there.

We were all expected to drop anything we had tomorrow an start it tomorrow, but I have to see my doctor on Tuesday tomorrow.

This is doing nothing but causing arguments at home as I've had nothing but aggressive verbal from my father since I got back an to be quite honest don't need all this stress from anyone while looking for work right now.

I'm feeling put down as I'd like to work something out with the course people but I'm afraid I'll just be threatened and then sanctioned when I'm not even the one doing anything wrong.

Anybody know what I can do I'd appreciate it, I just want some peace of mind right now.

The course is not causing problems, your father is. Arrange to make the payments on another day, or online.

What does your Father plan to do when you get work?
  • So speak to your father and explain that you have to do this and set another day to do payments.

Unless he can pay you for this work for him then you need to focus on working towards a job and whilst you want to help him it will have to be another day.

What is the reason for your father not being able to count anymore? Is it some form of dementia leading to aggression or has be always behaved like that?
