Can you check out whether there is a food bank near you?

And do you have any sikh temples in the area?

Second the food bank but also go to the Job Centre to request interim hardship payments until your money comes through. You could also contact your local authority to enquire about a Local Support Payment. This will hopefully help you manage a bit better until your claim is in payment.

If you have the time,, create a list of everything you have and post it here. We will soon get a menu plan and suggested buys sorted for you. Remember to include how many people, ages , how long for and any dietary needs.

    Good so far.

Once you know what you have from the food bank, post up a list and we can suggest ways to make what you have been given into a menu plan.

In the very short term, if you have nothing in store, a budget pack of spagetti and a tin of tomatoes can be used to make something filling. Obviously better with some onion or garlic, herbs or a little cheses but, needs must.
