If any of you like very posh knitwear (as sold in Harrods and Harvey Nicks!) there is a John Smedley factory shop at Lea Mills near Matlock. I recently bought a cardi from this season for £35 - it retails at about £170 :j
They also have bargain bins where you can pick up lovely stuff for just a tenner.0 -

I had forgotten about the "Mill Mile" in Batley too until some one just mentioned it. At Alexandra Mills there, they have M&S and Laura Ashley furniture and accesories - well worth a visit. Theres also a good shoe shop there too. And accross the road is Berwin and Berwins who sell mens suits and seperates. They manufacture from high end designer suits to suits for Next and Debenhams etc. Hubby got a great pair of trousers from there last christmas and the staff were really really helpful. I love Redbrick Mill.0 -

That Batley shop sounds very interesting by the way.
Just thought of another one. ..on the A10 going into Cambridge, by the park and ride at Trumpington there is a discount furniture warehouse - that had some mega bargains too - lots of Laura Ashley stuff in there.0 -
Does anyone know whether the bra factory shop in Desborough is still open? Likewise the aquascutum factory in Corby - and are they any good?
P.S. Potter and Moore have a (tiny) factory shop in Peterborough at Mancetter Square.0 -

They're a bit of a scrum, with long queues to pay, but you can strike really lucky.0 -

M&S sofas and furniture factory store at Lawtons Furniture, Birkenhead, Liverpool.
The store on Pool St has hundreds of M&S sofas in a huge warehouse at the back. I just bought two large sofas for £799 and they are gorgeous.
The store on Ark Royale Way has lots of dining furniture and bedroom stuff as well as sofas.
Hope this helps.0 -
I like to look around Oswaldtwistle Mills near Accrington. Not strictly a factory shop they do sell end of line/discontinued stuff, plus they have a couple of really nice cafes inside:

Also, Boundary Mills is pretty good too - mainly clothes and household goods. I visit the one in Colne, but according to their website they have stores in Shiremoor, Walsall and Grantham. If I have been of any assistance, or my information is useful, please press the "Thanks" button0 -
