Amazon Prime bonkers offer

So yesterday in the post I received an offer letter from Amazon for their "Prime Instant Video" service. It even came with a cretdit card thing complete with hologram that does nothing but points me to the website....
Okay so my issue:
So the letter goes on to tell me about what I can watch on the service, and that I'd get free next day delivery on Amazon stocked products too. It then encourages me to "Start your 30-day free trial today"
But reading the LITERALLY small print it states: "This offer does not entitle you to a free trial of a Prime instant Video monthly membership".
So if I get this right it's a free trial offer that excludes that very item that it's offering in the free trial?

LOL, well done OP...I'm glad you posted! I got mine through yesterday and it went straight in the bin after a less than thirty second deliberation of "looks too good to be true and if it does give me something, I'm guessing I'll have to cancel it at some point...so may as well save myself the time now!"0

I didn't get this letter but my Mum did. I set up an Amazon account for her to manage her Kindle and download some books to it.
She saved the letter to show me as she couldn't understand what it was all about.
Not happy about it, but no harm done. Told her to bin it.0 -
i did actually take up the offer and got the free 30 days, just cancelled in my account the day before offer was due to expire. No problems and got free films for a month. The only thing I found was that the films available for free were pretty rubbish!Saving for a return trip to America, 3 weeks on Route 66 for our honeymoon just wasn't long enough!0

I think they're just making you aware of it without committing to give it to anyone who has already had a free trial or whatever.0

The letter was about the Amazon Prime Service. Taking out this service doesn't give you a free trial of the Amazon Prime Instant Video Service, you have to apply separately for this.
They're two different offers.0
