Sofaworks wrong order, won't refund!

I was wondering if somebody could advise me? In short, I ordered a footstool from Sofaworks, it was a special order as it was to have white stitching, when I went to collect the product and paid for it, I discovered it had grey stitching, I informed staff and refused the product, after a 10 day wait and several phone calls I was informed the footstool was made with the wrong colour stitching (not found in warehouse) and another order would have to be placed with another 10 week wait! I told the store this was't acceptable and they have failed to deliver the goods, yet they refused to give me a refund stating the order was un-cancellable! Where do I stand? Thanks in advance!

Under the Sale of Goods Act you have the right to reject goods that you have not yet accepted if they do not conform to the contract and get a full refund. The company has no right to insist on a replacement at this stage.
How much was the sofa, have you paid yet, and if so how did you pay? The answers to these questions will determine what you can do next.0 -
Hi Frugal_Mike! Thanks for your reply! That's pleasing to know! I originally paid £100 by credit card deposit, then paid the outstanding balance of £219 cash on collection, only to be greeted by the wrong product waiting at the front of the store for me!0

In which case, you may find it easier to make a Section 75 claim against your credit card provider. See http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases0

10 weeks to make the replacement?
Surely in the name of good customer service they could push that through a bit quicker? However if not then I completely agree you should get your money back.
Seems like Sofaworks have a spot on advertising campaign using a sloth!0
