Congratulations on going golden Fee, the site is so addictive lol :D

Thank you, yes it is very much so. I wish I had started it sooner, think I joined neo about 3 times before I actually gave it a chance.

I still don't really know what all the numbers mean, I use the handy referrel manager but haven't worked out the half of it. Some numbers are in red, some are green, and then there is the BEP, I know what that means, just not what its meant to be really.

As far as I understand it the BEP is a means of working out whether you are making a profit from your referrals. If your ref click average is higher than your BEP - your break even point - then you are doing well :) The best strategy for goldens is to try and reduce your costs, that way your BEP is lower :) So for example if you are lucky and win a golden membership, then you won't be paying the 19-25c a day that it is usually priced at ($70-90/365).

I'm still very much a newbie. Another advantage of being gold, is that you can subscribe to threads on Neo much like on MSE. I'm subscribed to about half a dozen and it is a great way of getting advice as people are always asking and answering questions in their threads...:D

I wish I had started sooner too :-)

  • BEP is what you need to break even

so lets say you have 100 refs and you extend them for 240 days with the 30% discount

to do this you need $1.12 cost of extending x your 100 referals which is 112 dollar divide that by 240 days which is 0.46 which is your BEP ie 0.46 converts to 46 clicks from 100 referals per day
if you get that your breaking even.

You could include your gold membership but if you task and click on your 9 adverts per day it virtually pays for itself. the only other thing to include is the initial rental of the referal which would be 20 dollars.

the different colours in the handy manger tell you how they are doing green means its making you a profit red means they aren't yellow is so so.

if anyone else has posted in the meantime sorry for the rambling post i find neobux very interesting.
Hope you've been able to understand my post :)

snowcauldren could probably explain in greater detail i am still learning new things as i progress :)
  • Yeah, BEP is simply showing you the revenue your referrals need to bring in on a certain day in order to exactly maintain your account in its current state (the expenses being both to pay your applicable membership costs for another day and to extend all your RRs for another day). Anything over that figure is then pure profit which is yours to do with as you please.

Different people plug different figures into the exact calculation. I will be using coins to renew my Golden Membership this year, so I'm omitting this. I also include the value of my fixed orange ads (30 cents per day).

  • For 4948 RRs, I calculate my BEP as follows (I always renew for 240 days):

    Renewing a single referrals costs $1.34 for 240 days, therefore $1.34/240 per day. Thus a daily renewal expense of 4948 x 1.34/240 = $27.63.

My 2nd year Ultimate Membership will be $800, therefore a daily cost of 800/365 = $2.19.

Subtracting the $0.30 for my fixed ads gives a daily expense of $29.52. This is the figure I need to make from my RRs to break even (using my defintion of this!)

    $29.52 = 2952 referral clicks. From a referrals base of 4948, this gives an average of 2952/4948 = 0.597.

'Profit' is a very liquid term and be manipulated in many ways. The above figures are just a measure of cash inflow set against known future outflows. The BEP simply lets me know what free funds I can use for expansion after meeting the costs (whatever I define these to be).

Sorry for the maths on a Sunday. Unforgivable!!!

Hoping to use coins for my membership next year too snowcauldron. There seems to be at least 10 videos a day to click on at the moment which is helping. I do the occasional survey too which bumps the total by a few hundred :D

Thanks all, this place is really great for getting advice and help.

Maths was my worst subject in school though so it will probably take me a while to fully understand everything. :D

Just looked at my numbers on the referrel manager, it says my average is 1.640, and my BEP is 1.267, for the month it is 2.217, those numbers are green. So how does that sound? :o

your bep seems high but so does your average perhaps you only have a handful of referals ?

without knowing the amount of referals you have and what your renewal price its difficult but even with that being said your well above your bep so your making profit :)

what tends to happen is as you increase the number of referals you get a lower average remember once you've gone golden your income doubles over night instead of 0.5c per click you now get 1c.

    edit

you do need to add your golden status into the handy manager otherwise it will think your a standard member.

Thanks OW, I just have the 90 referrels so far, hoping to get a few more this week though. Will try and just build my referrels up slowly.
