Money-saving Christening...any tips?

Have to say there are some right fussy one's in my OHs family and even they said 'What a lovely spread'. It did take very little prep time and looked good. Forgot to add I had an arrangement of nice chutneys and pickles (from Lidl and put in a bowl, of course).
And as it was a Christening, no alcohol (I think that's fair enough!!). Keep your eye out for offers on Schloer.
