Oh F*ck.

Apologies for the bad language but I'm feeling p*ssed off. Some of you may remember ages ago, I posted about how to try and get out of debt while trying to support my mum, who is ill and doesn't get enough incapacity benefit to actually live on.

Anyway, her car is now up the creek and she needs another one. This is not an unessential - we live in an area with virtually no public transport, and she can't walk far any more (despite always having been very fit and active) so the car gives her the ability to get out of the house and enjoy some quality of life.

I can't get into any more debt, it's hard enough trying to make all my payments as it is. In some ways I wish it was credit card debt derived from shopping and holidays - at least I'd have had some fun spending it!!!! As it is, I barely go out, don't buy new things, and work over 50 hours a week. I want to set up my own business but am unsure because if it goes pear shaped it isn't just me who suffers. And I'm almost 30 and would like a baby, but there's absolutely no way I can do that because I can't afford to take time off during preganncy, nor could I pay for childcare! My OH does what he can but is also stuck with a massive mortgage and child support (which he pays faithfully and I wouldn't have it any other way).

I am so sick of the whole situation and what makes it even worse is that the financial side will only improve once my mum is no longer here :( . And I don't even want to think about her not being here. I'm so angry - bad enough she is dying without having to worry about bloody money as well!!!

Sorry to see how bad your situation is making you feel and that your poor Mum is suffering. Does she not qualify for DLA if she is so ill thus making it possible to apply for mobility allowance?

EDIT: reading some back posts on your Mums situation if she is terminally ill then your really need to sort out other benefits she can claim... there are several avenues you can go down but as you both live in Spain I am not knowledgable enough to help but I am sure someone will be along who knows about claiming while living abroad....

Sorry to hear things are turning from bad to worse for you.

I strongly recommend you make an appointment with the CAB to seek advice on potential benefits that your Mum could be entitled to.

    Thanks guys.

I've checked every avenue I can think of and she can't claim any more. Thanks for the support though, it's appreciated.
