The short side of the story is that more people associate Greener with symbolically significant behavioral attributes such as hybrid cars and solar panels while neglecting less fashionable data, such as how many, how far, how big.

Probably one of the dumbest articles on/and research I've ever read ... effectively, someone with a fuel inefficient SUV who doesn't need to travel very far uses less fuel than someone who needs to travel further but drives a fuel efficient car .... who'd have thought it ! ... :rotfl:
Now, what if the guy with the Prius used to drive a SUV and the annual mileage stayed the same .... less fashionable data?, no just pure tosh .... the title should read "How some use logical fallacies to trick the brains of the weak minded into buying their products" ...

The un-greenest thing you can do is to have children. The more, the more un-green.
The second un-greenest thing you can do is own a dog. Because of the meat they eat.
Owning a SUV is way down the sin list compared to either of the above.0
